![]() ![]() I know that updating BIOS is very risky, but I had confidence in my dual bios. Some number of short beeps that are sounded by the BIOS upon startup when a memory, cache or processor error is encountered. Now I kind of hesitate to try again and see what happens. I wasnt very nervous the 1st time I updated to F2, because I never had a bad flash before. If you own a computer with a Gigabyte motherboard and the machine is having memory-related errors or boot errors, or if you have forgotten the BIOS Supervisor password, you must clear the CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) to reset the settings to factory defaults. Bios was corrupt, and my dual bios kicked in repairing the bad flash. After hitting the "flash bios" button in 3 seconds or less, hell broke loose, I was flooded with "kernel memory failure" errors and I had to reset as the system was non responsive. I installed on Vista 32-bit, turned off all apps, and my Antivir residend shield, and used the offline bios update. Intel CNVi WIFI upgradable slot, Smart Fan 5, DualBIOS, CEC 2019 ready. The Gigabyte screen popped up like always but trying to get into any of like the settings just went to blank/black screen. Advanced that allows for power saving schemes even while overclocking, to use those features though I need to flash my bios to F4 (F3 version was shortlived as it had a flaw with Intel RAID-0, it was up for a week or so before being removed and replaced on the site with F4). Meanwhile Gigabyte rolled out it's D.E.S. Adjust BIOS Switch (BIOSSW) to the non-working BIOS. Boot up the computer and enter BIOS mode to load BIOS default setting. Adjust BIOS switch (BIOSSW) to the functional BIOS. Try running the corrupted BIOS, I randomly got a corrupted BIOS myself a few days ago, and upon booting up, it auto restored it from the old BIOS. Please follow below procedure to fix corrupt BIOS ROM that not physically damaged: Turn off the computer. I'm trying to update my GA-EX38-DS5 bios, bought it in feb 2008, the board came with F1 original bios, flashed it succesfully to F2 version using the utillity (from Windows XP SP3). Just install the latest BIOS, and flash it to the old corrupted BIOS with an USB drive. Press Control+F (Mac users use Command+F). ![]()
