As Tav searches for a way to remove their parasite, they encounter other survivors of the wreck: the human wizard Gale, the half-elf cleric Shadowheart, the high elf vampire rogue Astarion, the human warlock Wyll, and the githyanki fighter Lae'zel. Tav is freed during the fighting and steers the damaged ship back to Faerûn, where it crashes. They have implanted Tav, as well as a host of other creatures, with illithid tadpoles, parasites capable of enthralling and transforming them into another mind flayer.īefore the mind flayers can transform their victims, the nautiloid flying ship they are all aboard comes under attack from githyanki warriors and their red dragons and flees through multiple realms, including Avernus, the first of the Nine Hells. The player character (default name Tav) has been taken captive by the mind flayers, who have launched an invasion of Faerûn. In the year 1492 DR, over 120 years after the events of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and months after the events of Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus, the forces of darkness are on the rise. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil.įrom the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. I can 100% agree with that.Gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power. However, for now, it is pretty subpar and generic. I think in the near future we will see changes added and Rogue becoming more of a fun and kitted out class. I can imagine that trying to convert 5e mechanics into a video game is a hell of a process and certain choices, based on feedback from players (which if DOS 2 development is any indication), changes will be made. Especially with how developed Ranger is over Rogue. Rogue is very lacking right now and I wish they had more of a real kit about them from the start here. But the main criticism is that even in EA, a Ranger has access to proficiencies a Rogue should have by default when they are already lacking in identity.Ībsolutely. EA can explain certain missing features for sure, like GOO warlocks not having telepathy which wouldn't work well in BG3's format. Keep in mind: Though they said release is in a year, they also said "when it's ready" and over the course of EA, things will get better! Divinity Original Sin 2 was the same way. It's kit is pretty basic, but that will change in time! Just gotta wait :)Ĭertain things like Expertise may not be working as intended yet so they haven't added it. In this chapter of the Baldurs Gate 3 guide you will find all the relevant information about Rogue - one of the many character classes available in the game. Gith also gives you triple jump buff, which is amazing for mobility. I did a gith variant, you get greatsword proficiency 2d6 vs 1d10, and the magical greatsword which gives you the 2 AC concentration buff, that paired with +3 dex and the 15 gith armor sets you at 20 AC. They are going to be adding things as time goes on, so right now some classes are subpar in the game or seem pretty basic. It's a pretty fun build, and arguably the strongest for rogue.
